THOSE WHO ACCEPTED HIS MESSAGE WERE BAPTIZED
Acts 2:41

You’ve said yes to Jesus. Now it’s time to take your next step!

Water baptism is a powerful step of obedience and a bold, public declaration of your faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Following the example of Jesus Himself, baptism beautifully represents our identification with His death, burial, and resurrection. As a believer is lowered into the water, it pictures being buried with Christ; as they rise from the water, it celebrates the new life we have in Him!

Water baptism declares three powerful truths:

• I am a follower of Jesus Christ.
• I have been given new life in Him.
• I am publicly identifying with Christ and His family of believers.

Baptism does not save us—we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Baptism is our opportunity to publicly proclaim what Christ has already done in our lives.

If you have placed your faith in Jesus and are ready to take this next step, we would love to celebrate this powerful moment with you!

WHY SHOULD I BE WATER BAPTIZED?

To follow the example of Jesus.
Jesus Himself was baptized. (Mark 1:9)

Because Jesus commands us to be baptized.
Jesus instructed His followers to make disciples and baptize them. (Matthew 28:19–20)

Because baptism is an outward expression of our faith and obedience.
Throughout the New Testament, those who believed in Jesus responded by being baptized. (Acts 18:8; 1 John 2:3)

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF WATER BAPTISM?

It publicly declares that you are a follower of Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 28:19–20)

It symbolizes the cleansing and new life we have received through Christ.
(1 Corinthians 6:11)

It pictures our identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.
We are buried with Him and raised to walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:1–4)

Water baptism does not make you a believer—it demonstrates that you already believe. Salvation is a gift of God received by grace through faith, not by our works. (Ephesians 2:8–9)

WHY ARE WE BAPTIZED BY IMMERSION?

Because Jesus was baptized this way.
Scripture tells us that Jesus came up out of the water after His baptism. (Matthew 3:16)

Because the biblical examples of baptism show believers going into and coming out of the water.
(Acts 8:38–39)

Because the Greek word translated “baptize,” baptizō, carries the meaning of immersing or submerging.

Immersion also provides a beautiful picture of being buried with Christ and raised to new life in Him.

WHO SHOULD BE BAPTIZED?

Water baptism is for every person who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ and chosen to follow Him.

In Scripture, people first believed the message of Jesus and then were baptized.
(Acts 2:41; Acts 8:12)

If you have received Christ as your Lord and Savior, baptism is your opportunity to take the next step and publicly declare, “I belong to Jesus!”

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Please bring:

  1. A towel

  2. Appropriate clothing to be baptized in—dark shorts or pants and a dark shirt are recommended.

  3. A complete change of dry clothes for after your baptism.

Please do not wear white shirts, string tank tops, swimsuits, or clothing that may become revealing when wet.

WE CAN’T WAIT TO CELEBRATE WITH YOU!

We can’t wait to celebrate with you as you take this exciting next step in your walk with Christ!
